the good news is that when i told my mom and my sister that i applied for it, they immediately said they wanted to go with me if i got accepted. (my dear sister, traci, used to live there.) and, we have decided that we are still going to go to portland labor day weekend anyway! so yay. yes, i am a bit disappointed that i didn't get in, but also kind of relieved. and now i get to have a nice, relaxing trip with my two very favorite women in the world!

I can understand your disappointment, but what great news you'll get to go to Portland anyway! Plus your work is fantastic, so I'm guessing there'll be many more shows in the future!
Oh, I am sorry you didn't get in. I know you must be disappointed. But I LOVE that you are going anyway!! How fun! Well, now you can at least scope out the people who are at the show! Don't be down about it...it is just one of those things. You know they say things happen for a reason! That usually comforts me for a few minutes anyway... :)
sorry about the bad break--portland is a great city. i blogged a recent visit, from microbrew to bridges.
thanks for your support, guys. you know, now that i know i am going anyway, i really am not upset anymore. and, yes, cassandra, i really do believe that about things happening for a reason! (i just checked out your blog; it's beautiful! for some reason i am unable to comment on certain blogs. when i try, it says "please choose a profile", but there is no drop down menu to choose from. it is so frustrating!)
and ecorover, what a beautiful post about the fair city. you captured it well. did you leave bridgeport out on purpose? i will have to check out the tugboat spot. it made me very excite to get there!
Woohoo!! We're going to Portland :) Love you sooo much kris!
